180 Miles

WYIRUN... exploring on vacation

WE WENT ON VACATION AND THAT IS AWESOME

Our first stop was the scenic route from Steamboat to Lander, WY through Encampment, WY. We biked up and over Battle Mountain Pass amongst the tractor rally.

For the first time, I camped in City Park. This is sort of a must in Lander... and throughout the 4 years living there, it never happened.

Dairyland and their iconic cheesewheels... still haven't tried one. Oh well, we have to come back.

Our travels continued through Dubois to the Tetons. Here is one of the only sunny days we had in WY.

And we arrived. Only one thing missing, Adam's Mountain Bike tire which was stolen off the top of the car.

We ventured on and in true masochistic fashion, we hiked through Paintbrush Canyon about 13 Miles in the rain and 40 degree weather. Woohoo. I will admit, the Mac and Cheese tasted awesome that night.

The night ended with a beer and 5 minutes of respite from the rain!

And so we continued into Utah. The first night in Alta, at Albion campground and the next three at Tanner Campground in Little Cottonwood Canyon.

Our days persisted of Hiking, Biking, swimming and running. We ended the days with a comedy club, massages and bangin' camp dinners. Salmon, turkey dogs and spare ribs!

Our campsite
The following of the Tour de Utah ensued where we rode up and over countless passes. Each ride was either up or screaming down.

In need of some cleaning, bathing in Jordanelle State Park was much needed.

Cadel Evans threw us his water bottle as we cheered him up Little Cottonwood Canyon

I led Adam in a workout in Sugar House Park, which hot and hard, but awesome.

The men came screaming through a small town outside of Park City where we got up close and personal with Jens Voight. Since his cycling career is over and he just finished the Tour of Colorado, I am thinking of having him over for dinner.

A model of our gourmet cooking through the week

Fires usually ended with rain... and our cooler ended up entirely eaten by a raccoon.

180 Miles were traveled on bike, water or foot which made for happy tired campers at the end of the week.
